Everything was almost ready for the episode of "Leeza" dealing with intelligent animals that was scheduled to be taped for next week, except for one small thing. Leeza had heard that there was a facility in a small coastal town within reasonable driving distance where research was being done into dolphin intelligence. An interview and some tape footage of their work would be just the thing to finish out the show. After all, people find that stuff fascinating. So, Leeza's people made some phone calls and a visit was arranged for Saturday.
Saturday morning Leeza woke up and got ready to go to the research facility. Dressed in a white blouse and a tan suit, and tan pumps, she drove off to the assignment. She looked good, she thought. Her heels made her look a bit taller, especially with her mid-thigh skirt. "Shouldn't take too long, just a short interview and borrowing some of their tapes." Leeza figured out loud.
When she arrived, Dr. Miles met her at the front desk. He gave her the grand tour of the facility, filling Leeza in on all the results of their research and agreeing to lend her the videotapes. Finally, they reached the dolphin tank. The doctor introduced her to Trix, the subject of the dolphin research. Trix made her way over to the tank wall, screeched and splashed some water onto Leeza's jacket. She grinned and said "My, she is playful!"
As the video crew took the tapes, packed up, and left, Dr. Miles said "I think she likes you. In fact, I get the impression Trix wants you to come in the water and play."
"You're kidding, right?" replied Leeza. "Besides, although I would love to, I didn't bring a swimsuit and I didn't see any wetsuits in this place."
"Well, you're right about the wetsuit part. Money's tight, so the staff who go in the water bring their own swimsuits and wetsuits from home." responded Dr. Miles. "But I wasn't kidding about Trix. I can tell what dolphins like, and right now, Trix likes you."
"I was just thinking," asked Leeza, "if I wanted to swim with Trix, wouldn't I need a permit or something? Of course, you could be pulling my leg about Trix actually wanting me in the water."
"Ordinarily, you would need a permit, but as director of this facility, I can grant waivers. So, yes, Trix would like you in the water, and yes, you are free to go in." replied Dr. Miles.
"Great! Why don't I head home, and come back tomorrow with my swimsuit?"
"One problem. We're closed tomorrow and Monday, we go to our working schedule with no visitors from the press. I'm afraid it would have to be today or never. It's up to you, but remember, a swim with a dolphin can be a once in a lifetime experience..."
Leeza thought for a moment. At first, she considered going to the local business district and shopping for something better suited for getting wet. True, it was too late in the season to find swimwear, but sportswear such as a leotard, unitard, or a top and bike shorts would do. Failing that, even a cheap T-shirt and jeans would be sufficient. Then she remembered the detour on the way to the center. The cop directing traffic told her that the main street was closed for emergency repairs to fix a leaky gas line. That meant all the stores in that area would be closed for safety reasons. It was about twenty miles to the nearest open mall. By the time she got there, found a parking space, fought the mall crowds and bought something, and returned, it might be too late. So that option was ruled out.
Then Leeza considered other options. She briefly (for about a millisecond) thought about going au naturel. Trix wouldn't mind since Leeza learned from Dr. Miles' lecture that many materials, even the heaviest wetsuits (and the skin beneath) are as transparent as glass to dolphin sonar, so Trix wouldn't be sensing anything new. But the fact that Dr. Miles was present nixed that idea. Stripping down and swimming in only her bra and panties seemed like an option, but Leeza wasn't sure how translucent they would turn in the water and, with Dr. Miles around, she would be afraid it might be too revealing. "Wish I wore my black ones today..." Leeza thought.
"Dr. Miles, I would really love to do it, but I can't! I'm not a skinny-dipper and I wouldn't feel comfortable swimming in just my underwear. And I can't go in dressed like this! My suit would get ruined!"
"Would it?" Dr. Miles asked. "Look at where Trix splashed you. Does it look ruined to you?"
Leeza looked at the drying damp spots on her jacket. The fabric seemed none the worse for the experience. "Thanks, Dr. Miles," smiled Leeza, "I think I can do this now."
Leeza then proceeded to remove her shoes and jewelry (so there would be no sharp edges to hurt Trix), then went to the ladder. She then slowly climbed into the water. The warm water felt surprisingly good againt her pantyhose covered legs. The next step down soaked most of her skirt. Then she ran out of steps on the ladder and lowered herself down until the water rose over her jacket and blouse. Leeza quickly dunked her head under to complete the soaking. Then Trix swam over and scanned her with dolphin sonar. With the introduction out of the way, the two new friends began to play.
As she was frolicking in the water and being towed by the dolphin. Leeza thought this "clothed swim" business isn't half bad. In fact, it was rather fun. What really felt nice was the way her clothes moved, especially the way her skirt rode up almost to the top of her thighs and her now untucked blouse came up to reveal a trim, bare midriff. Feeling uninhibited, Leeza decided to have some more fun and dove headfirst beneath the surface.
Dr. Miles watched as Leeza plunged under the water, her blonde hair flowing while she headed towards the bottom. Her skirt drifted almost to her hips and revealed her panties (surprisingly enough, still opaque, not translucent as she was dreading earlier). The blouse was now translucent and clearly revealed her bra. Her jacket trailed behind like a cape. As she ascended to the surface, Leeza put her arms back and let the jacket slide off. Trix retrieved the jacket and brought it to Leeza on the surface, who then set it on the side of the tank since it was easier to swim without it. Leeza then considered removing her blouse also, since it was too translucent to conceal anything and it was obvious that her bra was just as opaque as a swimsuit top would be. But she decided to leave it on as some protection from the sun, so she just unbuttoned it and knotted it around her chest.
By now, Dr. Miles was overheated and Trix laughed in amusement, fascinated by the spectacle of Leeza enjoying her discovery of wetlook and amused by Dr. Miles' reaction (which bordered on drooling).
The time eventually came for her to get out and get going. She picked up her jacket, untied, and buttoned up her blouse as Dr. Miles came walking over (in a somewhat odd manner) with some towels. Leeza towelled herself off and soon, with the aid of a late afternoon breeze, dried enough that she wouldn't damage the seat in her car. Checking the time, she couldn't believe she was in the water that long. But it was the most fun she had in a long time and well worth it, no matter whether or not her suit survived. Leeza then returned the towels, said thanks and goodbye to Dr. Miles, and left.
During the entire trip home, she couldn't stop thinking about her fun discovery of the world of wetlook and wondered when and where she would be able to do it again. "Maybe it could be a show topic," said Leeza to herself. "Nah, the world isn't ready, but I'm fairly sure my husband is..."
