Starring Marina Sirtis

Another successful "Star Trek" convention had concluded, and Marina Sirtis, the lovely actress who played Deanna Troi on "Star Trek: The Next Generation" was very pleased with how it went. There were lots of fans, but virtually all of them were well-behaved and none of them did anything improper in dealing with her. Things had gone very smoothly indeed, but Marina's luck was about to go downhill.
The plan had called for Marina to leave the hotel which hosted the convention and catch a flight back home the day after the end of the convention. However, that was not to be. Midnight of the night the convention ended, there was a strike by one of the unions in the flight industry. As a result, there were almost no flights leaving for the time being and Marina was stuck at the hotel until this problem could be settled.
Now, the hotel management did try to help by upgrading the accomodations of Marina and the other stranded convention celebrities to luxury suites. But this was mainly done to free up rooms for stranded business travelers.
Sitting in a room all day, even a luxury one, can be boring. Expecting only a weekend trip, Marina packed very light and didn't even bring anything to help pass the time. So, she eventually headed to the hotel's outdoor poolside bar.
The bar was less boring, but the scenery was better and the air was fresher. However, this place had problems of its own. The science fiction fans, though they might have been geeks, were friendly. The business travelers who replaced them were a different lot. They were all pretty ticked off about being stranded, and their drinking only made things worse.
The first day of Marina's extended stay, things weren't too bad in the bar. The next day, the frayed nerves of the business travelers were starting to show. Two men got into a heated argument over some trivial matter. Then one of the combatants grabbed a pitcher of beer and threw the contents at his opponent. He missed his target and the beer hit the front of Marina's dark blue sweater and jeans.
Marina jumped from her seat, aghast and surveying her beer-soaked outfit. Just then, the bartender showed up. "Hi, I'm Steve. Let me help you." he said.
"What a mess..." Marina grumbled. While this was happening, Steve produced a tablecloth and wrapped it around Marina.
"That beer was ice cold and I don't want these guys to start ogling you, looking for any 'effects' from the cold liquid."
"Thank you."
"One more thing. I'll see about getting the hotel to launder that outfit for you. I'm so sorry that this had to happen to you."
"That's very sweet of you." Marina replied. Then, she left the bar and headed back to her room.
In her room, she got out of her beer-doused outfit and put it into a plastic bag. After a quick shower, Marina changed into the pantsuit she was saving for the flight home. "Looks like I'll have to wear every outfit at least a few times before I get home." she thought. Then, she took the sweater, jeans, and the tablecloth Steve gave her and went to the main desk. After explaining her situation along, with some help from Steve, the hotel staff agreed to clean the outfit.
After dinner, Marina went back to the room and vainly searched for something to watch on TV. Some time later, she gave up and decided to turn in early.
The next day, Marina got up and got dressed. Her sweater and jeans were still being cleaned and would not be back until some time tonight. So she decided to wear what she wore on the first day of the convention - a tight, red, sleeveless minidress that was quite popular with the fans (for very obvious reasons).
After a call to find out about the airport situation (the situation had not changed - still no flights), Marina set off to find something to occupy herself. After breakfast, she settled on a trip into town to see if there were any interesting sites. The trip was uneventful, but at least she was out of the hotel.
In the evening, after she had finished dinner, she headed to back to the hotel's poolside bar. Marina hoped there would be no repeat of yesterday's incident. As soon as she arrived, she was greeted by Steve.
"Everything okay?" Steve asked.
"I'm fine. Just bored." Marina replied.
"Well, find a seat at the bar. You played a counselor on 'Star Trek', now it's my turn."
It was an invitation Marina couldn't refuse. She took her place at the bar and started a conversation with Steve. They talked about "Star Trek", fans (especially a nice one known to you readers as 'Nemesoak'), and music (Marina's husband is a rock musician). They were having a good time.
Several times in the conversation, slightly inebriated bar patrons tried to pick up Marina or make suggestive comments to her. However, a scowl or, at most, a reprimand from Steve was sufficient to stop them. Steve also kept a close watch on Marina's drinks to make sure no one tried to slip anything into them.
A few hours later, the bar and pool areas were almost deserted. The warm evening air had a perfect, soft breeze to it. The last man drinking at the bar was a heavy-set man. His suit indicated that he was a stranded business traveler and his speech and demeanor indicated that he was very drunk.
The drunk put his hand on Marina's shoulder and slurred "Hows about cheering up a bored exec, honey?"
Marina quickly took his hand off her shoulder and snapped back "I am not your honey! I am a married woman! Why don't you go get some sleep and sober up?"
"Aw, don't be so uptight." the drunk slurred, "No one has to know but us." He then grabbed Marina's arm tightly and tried to pull her.
Marina was getting anxious. Trying to get him to let go, she exclaimed "Please! Let me go! You're hurting me!"
"After all those geeks, I guess I'm too much of a man for you, huh? I can teach you a few things..."
Steve decided to intervene. He shouted at the drunk "The woman wants you to leave her alone. If you have any problem with that, you'll have to deal with me!"
"What you gonna do, stop serving drinks?"
Steve angrily replied "You aren't getting anymore to drink anyway. You're too damn drunk! Now, if you don't leave that lady alone, you're going to meet a good friend of mine..." With that, Steve reached behind the bar and produced a baseball bat.
The drunk could still recognize a baseball bat and could deduce what it would do to his skull. "Hey! I don't want no trouble. I'll go back to my room." The drunk released Marina's arm and started walking back to the hotel, passing near the pool.
He was still cussing at his misfortune under his breath as he was walking next to the pool. Then, it happened. The drunk clutched at his chest and started to collapse. He then fell into the pool with a loud splash.
Steve, seeing what happened, said "I don't think he's faking it!". He then got the phone, called 911, and gave a quick description of the situation. Then, he removed his apron, jumped over the bar, ran for the pool, and dove in, still in his dress shirt, black pants, and shoes.
Surfacing, Steve swam over to the stricken man and got him so he wouldn't drown. Fortunately, Steve got there in seconds, so the man didn't have a chance to inhale water. Another big plus was that he was still breathing, though he was obviously in very serious trouble.
Steve pulled the drunk to the edge of the pool and tried to get him out of the water. However, the drunk was a bit too heavy for Steve to accomplish this. Then, Steve had an idea.
"I could use some help here!" he yelled.
For about a tenth of a second, Marina looked around to see if there was anyone else in the area that could be who Steve was asking. But Marina was the only person in the area.
"Come on," Steve called out, "I can't get him out."
Marina knew what had to be done. After kicking off her shoes, she considered (for a millisecond) removing her dress. She was sure what she had on underneath could pass for swimwear, but she decided that time was of essence. Besides, a swim might do the dress some good.
Arriving at the pool, Marina jumped in. The water was only up to her shoulders, with the lower part of her hair submerged. Her dress became very clingy and even more formfitting than before. Half swimming, half wading, Marina came up to where Steve was.
Though tempted to admire Marina, Steve concentrated on the task at hand. With coordinated effort, Steve and Marina got the drunk out of the pool and on his back on the edge of the pool.
"How is he?" Marina asked.
"Not good. But he's still breathing. He would have drowned if I was much slower." Steve responded.
"That's good that he's still breathing. I wouldn't want to be the one to have to give him mouth-to-mouth."
About a minute and a half later (the EMS in this city have an excellent response time), sirens were heard in the parking lot. Swimming towards a ladder, Steve said "I have to get out so I can direct the paramedics over here." He then exited the water and Marina silently admired how Steve's shirt was translucent and very clingy. His pants weren't half bad either.
As the sound of the medical crew drew closer, Marina thought "What if one of them recognizes me?" While she had nothing against fans, Marina realized that her dress was a bit more revealing in the water than it was on dry land. It left nothing of her contours to the imagination, was slightly translucent (just enough to dimly reveal her black bra and panty set), and it had ridden up as high as it could possibly go and still offer coverage. True, she shown far more skin in a few flicks in her early career, but Marina felt those days were long behind her.
Fortunately, she had an idea. Taking a deep breath, Marina quickly bobbed her head under. Surfacing, she slicked back her hair. She also cleared her throat for when the paramedics arrived.
Seconds later, the medical crew did arrive and they put the drunk on a stretcher. "Thanks to your quick action, I think this man will pull through." said one of the paramedics. "Now, tell me what happened."
Steve gave an account of what happened from the moment the man had chest pains, carefully leaving out any mention of the man's drunken behavior or Marina's presence. "Okay." commented the paramedic. "I think your friend there deserves some credit too."
The other paramedic noticed Marina and chimed in "Hey, aren't you Marina Sirtis? I really liked your work on 'Star Trek'."
Flashing Steve an expression that said "I know, just play along...", Marina answered in an accent totally different from her normal voice "You'd be surprised how many people tell me that. I suppose I do bear a resemblance. Kind of odd, huh?"
The paramedic responded "Sorry to have bothered you, ma'am. Thanks for helping your friend with the rescue."
As the paramedics left, Steve asked "What was that all about?"
Marina answered "I didn't want him to recognize me. I was afraid he'd get a picture or something and post it to the web. It's bad enough that those clips from early movies are up there. I don't want to see pictures of myself looking like this..."
"I think you look wonderful," Steve replied as he jumped back in the pool and swam up to Marina. "What's amazing is that you are showing less skin than you did on that 'Voyager' guest spot where you were on a beach in that gray one-piece, yet you look far more interesting."
"Never thought of it that way. Come to think of it, it does feel fun and a bit naughty at the same time, especially with how clingy my dress is and the way it moves. Still, if someone got a picture of me like this and it shown how much I was enjoying it, people might think I was either drunk or very weird."
"Well," Steve commented, "I know you're not drunk and I don't think you are weird at all. I think you are a fine woman. And now, thanks for your help." With that, Steve went and gave Marina a kiss. She too felt grateful for all of Steve's help arlier so she reciprocated. They slowly submerged in an embrace, each savoring the feel of the other underwater. A few seconds later, they separated suddenly and shot to the surface.
"I think it would be best for both of us if we stopped. That was starting to get a little too enjoyable." Marina stated.
"I agree." responded Steve. "Don't want to do something that we both would regret later. I'll get out now. There's a few things I need to tend to, but I'll be nearby in case you need anything."
As Steve exited the pool, Marina asked "Okay if I stay in for a while? The water is so nice."
"Go right ahead. You earned it."
Marina continued her swim session and Steve was admiring the view from the bar. The tabloid reports were way off. There was nothing wrong with Marina's figure, Steve thought. He especially enjoyed the way Marina's hair moved as she was paddling around on her back and he also liked how the water and the cling of her dress made her seem even more endowed. Every now and then, Marina would dive beneath the surface and swim along the bottom, her lovely legs almost totally revealed and in motion. Then, she would do some simple aquabatics on the way to the surface. It was like watching water ballet.
After a while of this, Marina swam to a ladder and exited the pool. As she got out of the water, her dress really clung tight to her. This made it incredibly formfitting and a bit more translucent than before. It was almost all Steve could do to keep his jaw from dropping at this impressive sight.
Marina then walked up to the bar and got a drink. Then she discussed with Steve about how much fun it was to swim in the pool like that.
"I wonder what your husband would say if he could see you now?" asked Steve.
"Well, he'd be amazed and, after that, who knows what would happen..." Marina responded. "But I don't know if he would actually jump into the pool to join me for a clothed swim. Even though he is a rock musician, he is actually a fairly ordinary guy. The thing he really likes is golf. He's quite good at it actually."
"Interesting. I tried golf once, but after hitting the ball about 50 times on four holes, I gave it up."
A short while later, Marina looked back at the pool and said "There's something I want to try before I turn in. I think you will like it."
"What might that be?" asked Steve.
"You'll see in a second." Marina then began to remove her red dress.
"Whoa! I don't think we should..." exclaimed Steve.
"Relax. I was just thinking about how much my underwear looks like a bikini. Besides, you've seen it already. This dress doesn't do much for concealment when it's wet." Marina then finished removing the dress, which left her in her black bra, panties, and pantyhose. Then, she ran to the pool and dove in.
Steve was very impressed. It did look like a bikini, but it somehow looked much better. Marina swam the length of the pool, diving under periodically, turned around, and swam to a ladder.
Anticipating what she wanted, Steve produced a plastic bag and a towel, which he handed to Marina when she exited the pool.
"I guess I'm goin to turn in now. Thanks for the towel." Marina said.
"Okay. I think I should close up now anyway. I've had plenty of excitement for one night and I don't think I can take much more, if you get my drift."
"I do," Marina laughed. "Well, good night and I appreciate your restraint." Then, Marina walked to the locker room. She towelled herself the best she could, put her shoes back on, stuffed the dress into the bag and headed back to her hotel room, tired but refreshed at the same time.
Marina's luck appeared to have improved considerably as she managed to get back to her hotel room totally unobserved. Even if anyone did see her, the way she had her towel and stuff, they would have assumed that she decided to take an ordinary late night swim.
Since her upgraded room featured a jacuzzi, and since she was still damp from her swim, Marina decided to try it out. Getting back into her red dress, Marina got the jacuzzi started and lowered herself in. It was wonderful. She then turned on the jets and had a nice soak. After a while, she removed the dress and resumed relaxing in the jacuzzi in her undergarments. By the time she was finished, she was enjoying the jacuzzi "California style".
When she was finished, Marina rinsed the chlorine out of her garments, took a shower, and went to bed. Though her sleep was restful, she had a series of unusual dreams. One dream had her getting up in the morning and heading out to her pool for a swim - still in her black sleeveless nightgown. Another dream had her attending a party in a strapless dress with gloves. The party quickly moved into the pool and no one thought it was odd.
The next morning, Marina awoke. A short while later, the phone rang. It was Steve. "Did you hear the news?" he asked.
"No, what news?" Marina answered.
"The airport. Looks like they resolved the problem and flights are being resumed."
"That's great. I can get to go home now. All I have to do is to find out when my flight leaves."
Steve responded "If you give me your information, I can look that up for you and give it when I return your outfit from the cleaners."
"Thanks. I'd appreciate it."
A few minutes later, Marina heard something outside her door. Opening it a little, Marina could see her outfit in a cleaners bag hanging from the knob along with a sheet of paper. Steve had come through and didn't want to disturb her.
Taking the clothes, Marina changed into her pantsuit and packed her luggage. A phone call later, she was ready to leave and head for the airport. But there was one thing she had to do first.
It took a little effort, but Marina located Steve. "Steve," she said, "I'm leaving and I wanted to say goodbye. You were very helpful and we did have a surprisingly good time last night."
"About last night," Steve commented, "somehow management found out about your swim. At first, they were a bit upset since they frown on the idea of clothed swimming for some strange reason. But, when I explained how you helped save that guy who fell in and spared the hotel some very expensive litigation, they had a change of heart. They told me to tell you that you are welcome in the pool anytime. And also that you won't be charged for the extended stay. Just a way of saying thanks."
"That's nice." Marina stated. "Now, I have to go." With that, she kissed Steve. Steve then gave Marina a quick hug and kiss.
Later, on the flight home, Marina thought about how her husband would react to seeing her in the pool fully-clothed. "Only one way to find out..." she thought.
A few weeks later, Steve received a heavily padded package. Opening it up, he found a note and several autographed CDs. The note was from Marina and her husband and it said that Marina's husband was so pleased with the way Steve looked out for her that he sent some of his CDs as a gift. The note also invited Steve to visit if he was ever in that part of the country.
That evening in the pool, and now this. Steve was one lucky man. As for Marina Sirtis, would she have another aquatic adventure? Who can say? Also, other celebrities were at this convention. Did any of them wind up in the pool? That might be a question for another time or another author.
The plan had called for Marina to leave the hotel which hosted the convention and catch a flight back home the day after the end of the convention. However, that was not to be.
